According to the press service, law enforcement officers found more than 7,000 unmarked e-cigarettes worth more than 6.5 million rubles in one of the offices of the Tomsk Business Company.

It is mentioned in the press release that according to the preliminary information of the investigative and statistical services, smugglers have established an international supply channel for e-cigarettes and illegally imported large quantities of unmarked e-cigarettes from China to Russia. The cigarettes were then sent to retail stores in the Tomsk region.

It is understood that a case has been opened under article 338 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, “Smuggling of alcoholic and/or tobacco products”, which carries a maximum penalty of 12 years’ imprisonment.
