Difference Between Disposable Vapes and Pod Vape Systems
Many vapes these days tend to be conveniently offered online. Disposable e-cigarettes are very popular among new and experienced vapers alike because of their convenience and ease of use.
As the vaping industry continues to face many challenges including increased regulations and taxes, how do you choose to continue vaping?
Now that the advantages of disposable vapes cigarettes are obvious, what are the disadvantages of using disposable electronic cigarettes?
Are pod vape systems a better option? Let’s take a look at the pros and cons of each vape system to help you decide which one is right for you as the industry evolves.
Disposable vapes:
Disposable vapes are all-inclusive vaping devices that are used once and thrown away. These devices are presented in an easy-to-use system that everyone can enjoy with little to no training. Disposables are suction activated, allowing the user to simply draw on the device to activate. Most disposables are now sold in quantities of 2,000 to 8,000 per piece. That means vape juice volume, coil resistance, and battery life are designed to last a specified number of puffs before one of the three components fails. Devices with more puffs are usually rechargeable, so the e-juice inside is likely to drain before the battery is fully drained. Once a disposable e-cigarette is used up, it is also thrown away and cannot be refilled or reused.
Advantages of using disposable vapes:
Convenience: Disposable vapes require no user knowledge and provide maximum convenience. All it takes is a breath!
Size and shape: Disposable vapes are usually small enough to fit easily in a pocket or purse. These devices are often fun, comfortable and/or compact in shape.
Availability: For the simplicity of these devices, they are now available in many convenience stores, smoke shops, and Mcekess.
Taste: The vast majority of disposable vapes are made in China from start to finish. These manufacturers have found a way to increase the overall sweetness of the e-liquid inside while elevating the flavor of the vapor to new heights.
Disadvantages of using disposable vapes:
Waste: Each disposable vape contains a lithium battery and small electronic components encased in a plastic interior. All of this is discarded every time the one-shot vape completes or malfunctions.
Not very efficient: With some disposable vapes, the battery fails or dies before all the e-juice inside is used up. This also means you miss out on some of the valuable benefits of infused nicotine.
Cost: Disposable vapes are affordable compared to the price of pesky analog cigarettes. However, if you compare the per-unit juice price of disposable e-juice to the price of a 30ml bottle of salty e-juice, it may seem more expensive than you might think.
Nicotine Strength Options: While there are some low-nicotine or zero-nicotine disposable options; the vast majority of these devices have a nicotine strength of 5% (50mg/ml).
No battery life or juice indicators: Most disposables have no way to tell how much fluid is left inside, or how much battery life is left. This can be a problem if you don’t carry a backup.
PodVape system:
PodVape is an vapes device that uses a refillable and replaceable pod-style atomizer paired with a battery-powered device. These systems are similar in size, shape, and function to disposables; they typically incorporate suction activation, rechargeable batteries, mouth-to-lung (MTL) coils, and fixed or adjustable airflow. Some of these systems have the convenience of instant pod replacement, allowing users to change flavors. Pod systems may also have battery life indicators and/or a single button that can completely shut down the device. Some of these vaping devices can use SpiderSE VapePods, but can also use regular vapes for low-nicotine or no-nicotine users.
Advantages of using pod system:
Convenience: Podvape systems require one more step than disposables, which is filling the pod with vape juice. Besides, they are equally convenient and fast.
Size and shape: Podvape systems are usually small enough to fit easily in a pocket or purse. The shapes of these devices are usually fun, comfortable and/or compact.
Refillable and Reusable: Most pods used with pod systems can be refilled multiple times before needing to be replaced. However, the pod device itself can last for years before it ceases to function, or the internal battery will no longer hold a charge.
Minimal Waste: When it’s time to replace your pod, you just throw away the pod; which includes coils, cotton, and a little plastic.
Cost: A 30ml bottle of saltnicvape juice can cost a user $14 to $18, while a single-use product containing 5ml to 12ml of saltnicvape juice can cost $16 to $30. You can do the calculation based on your own consumption rate.
Taste selection: pod vapes do not contain e-liquid, so there are a large number of brands and flavors for users to choose from.
BATTERY LIFE AND JUICE INDICATORS:
The pod system features clear pods so users can see juice levels as they fill. After placing the pod into the device, a small portion of the pod emerges from the top, allowing consumers to see the amount of liquid remaining when using it. Some of these devices may also have a battery life indicator to show how much charge is left before needing to be recharged (battery life).
Nicotine strength options:
Because these devices don’t come with e-juice; you can choose from 5% or 3% liquid, 0.6% or 0.3% free base liquid, or nicotine-free liquid.
Disadvantages of using a podvape system:
Initial cost: Getting started with a podvape system will cost more initially. Pod systems range from $15 to $40 for the vast majority of starter kits. However, this is a one-time upfront cost that can save you a lot of money down the road.
Find a Flavor: With so many flavors to choose from, it can sometimes be overwhelming to find a particular flavor. If you are a regular one-time user, you may find that the MKBAR7000 series is the most suitable replacement for your accustomed taste.
Availability: Pod systems are available in vape stores and some smoke shops, but you probably won’t find them in a convenience store.
Cartridge Capacity: Since the cartridge system is refillable, the cartridge itself typically holds 2ml to 6ml of e-liquid. This may not be enough to last a full day for some users, so a refill or spare container may be necessary.
To vapers in states or cities that tax anything that contains nicotine: Note that you are only taxing liquids! Taxes on a bottle of vape juice are much lower than the equivalent amount of disposables.
