Argentine Drug Detection Dog Uncovers Over 149 kg of Cannabis

A drug detection dog named “Lion Dog” in Argentina has successfully detected more than 149 kilograms of cannabis hidden in trucks operated by two logistics companies, en route from Mendoza to Buenos Aires.

During a routine highway inspection of the vehicles, the drug detection dog alerted authorities to a strong odor of cannabis. Upon verification, a total of 72 kilograms and 570 grams of cannabis were found concealed within the cargo of the trucks. Consequently, the driver was arrested, and the court has ordered the confiscation of all the drugs discovered in the two separate incidents.

This successful operation highlights the crucial role that specially trained dogs play in law enforcement efforts to combat drug trafficking and ensure the safety and security of communities. Authorities continue to be vigilant in their efforts to intercept and prevent the illegal transportation of narcotics within the country.
